Community Base
As well as providing a safe space, the state-of-the-art facilities will allow for the delivery of highly effective programmes, including activities, events and community focused projects which benefit residents and visitors.
Completed and opened in 2022, this purpose-built centre now provides a new hub for the community, nurturing stronger bonds and a sense of well-being, and emphasises the importance of delivering new activities, events and community focus projects. This approach allows the community to lead and determine its own future.
The centre is managed by London’s Community Kitchen (LCK), a grassroots organisation driven by the principles of inclusivity, empowerment, community and sustainability.
LCK’s drive to address food insecurity by distributing nutritious food, has evolved as it now includes providing a safe space where individuals and families are empowered to lead healthier and more sustainable lives by educating, training, offering work experience and employment.
